INTAKE PROCEDURE - Food Service / Retail Program
Step 1: Preview Session
Attend mandatory briefing with parents/guardians
Step 2: Initial Screening
DHS conducts interviews to assess candidate eligibility
Step 3: Enrollment & Training
Successful candidates:
Make payment
Begin 1-month classroom training in Malaysia
Step 4: SG Quest Interview
Participants interviewed (Zoom/in-person) by SG Quest Singapore
24-hour notice provided for follow-up interviews with Singaporean employers
Step 5: Placement Process
Some students placed during training; others await placement
SG Quest provides direct updates to students
Step 6: Pre-Departure Formalities
Selected candidates submit passport copy to SG Quest for MOM’s In-Principle Approval (IPA)
DHS books KLIA-Singapore flight (Tuesday arrival by 11 AM)
Students share flight details with SG Quest
Step 7: Travel to Singapore
Non-KL candidates: Receive one-time travel allowance (RM 350)
On arrival:
Met by SG Quest staff OR
Reimbursed for Grab ride to SG Quest office
Step 8: Orientation & Settling-In
Induction program: Rules, cultural norms, and Singapore laws
Medical check-up at approved clinic
Accommodation assignment
Transportation training (MRT/buses)
Step 9: Bank Account & Placement
SG Quest or Singapore Education Services assists with:
Local bank account setup (for monthly allowance)
Commencement at employer’s venue (confirmed date/time)
Step 10: Monthly Check-Ins
Mandatory counselor meetings (monthly)
4th-month review: Interest assessment for continued work
Step 11: Completion & Certification
Employer-issued certificate submitted to DHS
Final certificate awarded by affiliated universities
